Computer modeling of the acoustic energy in phased-array UT examination of nuclear-vessel bolts saves time, money and increases both POD and inspection productivity.
This was the theme of a joint technical presentation made between Ms. Erica Schumacher (Extende, Inc.) and Mr. Tom Jenkins (Sensor Networks, Inc.) at the recent ASNT Research Symposium in Orange County, CA. Extende Inc. is the US subsidiary of Extende CIVA – a French company that exclusively licenses the NDT simulation software.
Ms. Schumacher gave the presentation that was co-authored with Tom Jenkins – a Senior Applications Engineer at Sensor Networks, Inc. (SNI) in Central PA who routinely uses CIVA software in his job. CIVA enables the virtual optimization of the ultrasonic technique before physical prototypes are developed. SNI’s customers in the aerospace and nuclear power industries have access to this advanced tool. SNI’s investment in CIVA and its training are an integral aspect of SNI’s vertically-integrated design & build capability of conventional and phased-array ultrasonic transducers. SNI is honored to work collaboratively with Extende to further the use and acceptance of this advanced SW imaging tool.Click below to download the slide deck:
